10.0.16 Beta (August 14, 2026)
Summary
This beta release includes Chromium 148 and Node 24 as well as numerous video stability, synchronization and HTML performance improvements for Series 4, 5 and 6 players. Beta releases provide early access to new features and do not guarantee functionality.
Limitations
- RTP streaming is not yet stable on 10.0
- This beta is not recommended for use with LGUV5N
- FLASH: onboard storage has limited available space and is not suitable for customer use on Series 4 players
New Features
- OS-5803: Added support for configuring SSH authorized public keys via roNetworkConfigurationroNetworkConfiguration and hostconfigurationhostconfiguration
- OS-19861: (General) Updated Node.js to version 24.15. The assessment of stability impacts on dependencies is ongoing, so remote deployment is strongly discouraged in the interim.
Feature Changes
- OS-15494: (General) QtWebEngine is removed on OS 10.0 and higher (meaning WebRTC desktop sharing is no longer available)
- OS-19284: (General) BrightSign OS no longer supports Chromium87.
- OS-19347: (General) roDeviceInforoDeviceInfo GetVersionNumber() and roDeviceInforoDeviceInfo GetBootVersionNumber() are deprecated. The algorithm used to generate the return value has changed. All officially released higher BrightSign OS versions will continue to compare as greater than lower ones. See the roDeviceInforoDeviceInfo documentation for more information.
- OS-19387: (Series 3) BrightSign OS no longer supports Series 3 players.
- OS-20952: (General) The BrightSign SSH server no longer supports algorithms that use SHA-1.
Improvements
- OS-19392: (General) roDeviceInforoDeviceInfo now provides the board name via a new GetBoardName() method
- OS-19393: (General) deviceinfodeviceinfo now provides the board name via a new boardName method
- OS-20416: (General) Improved frame accuracy of live stream joins
- OS-20446, OS-20449: (General) Improved discontinuities, gaps, and loss-of-sync handling in MPEG transport streams
- OS-20418: Adds optional post-decode buffering allowing decoder to reset while maintaining synchronization. Enabled via setting DecodeBufferMs or x-bs-decode-buffer-ms to a non-zero value. Maximum value is 1 second or 25% of the system memory (frame size x frame count), whichever is less.
- OS-20750: (General) Enable automatic stream stall recovery by default. This allows the player to automatically recover if the stream appears to freeze
- OS-20907: (MD455) Added support for special characters (including some commonly-used ISO 8859-1 characters)
- OS-21719, OS-21731, OS-21745, OS-21746, OS-21761: (LGUV5N) Enabled OSD functionality and added several related improvements to the IR output of this player
